The rector told that series of events were being held at UNEC and informed that Student Theatre of UNEC planned to visit Kars province of Turkey for presenting a performance made on the works by Nasimi and also other events.
The rector told about Nasimi′s ideas and heritage, noting that the great poet kept alive the traditions of previous writers and was writing in Azerbaijani. Noting that the great Azerbaijani people were growing genius poets in different periods, the rector drew attention to the fact that I.Nasimi had a special place among them. A.Muradov told that it was imposible to become indifferent to Nasimi′s heritage and the main feature differentiating him from other people was possession of faith. The rector touched upon the necessity of becoming a worthy citizen for upbringing of a decent citizen, patriotism in the heritage of Nasimi, and his willingness to become a stone of the country at any time.
In his speech, academician T.Kerimli spoke about the great value given to the philosopher Nasimi. He noted that only like the great people of Azerbaijan would be able to grow a huge personality like I.Nasimi. T.Kerimli pointed out that Nasimi believed that man came to the world with a mission and that people should love and value one another. He told about humanism, ideas of freedom in Nasimi’s works. The people of Azerbaijan are one of the rare nations that have not passed the slavery period, always being free people, the ideas of human freedom have permanently been promoted. These ideas are reflected in our classic literature, including Nasimi’s works. Nasimi believed that in the person’s face the letters of the Arabic alphabet were reflected, a man was holy, and man came to be happy in the world.
Our great poets like Fizuli and Khatai have been grown under the influence of Nasimi′s works, one of the first poets writing in our mother tongue. Nevertheless, Nasimi has been forgotten for a long time, and Salman Mumtaz, our poet, has revived his works back to life, publishing those centuries later. T.Kerimli noted that as a result of the work of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, Nasimi was transferred to the world by passing Bolshevik damage.
