Organized by the Faculty of Economics of the Turkic World at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC), the International Turkic World Economics Conference on the topic “Shared Future: Socio-Economic Innovations” has officially started.
At the opening ceremony, speeches were delivered by UNEC Vice-Rector Associate Professor Garay Musayev, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Azerbaijan Bürol Akgün, Member of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Ilyas Topsakal, Chairman of the Turkish World Research Foundation (TDAV) Közhan Yazgan, and Rector of the Three-Color RANCH Technology University of Uzbekistan, Juratbek Atajanov.
UNEC Vice-Rector Associate Professor Garay Musayev noted that the purpose of the conference is to enhance mutual cooperation among the Turkic World countries in socio-economic development, discuss new economic approaches and social innovations, and strengthen the exchange of experience between countries. He wished success to the conference participants.
Ambassador Bürol Akgün spoke about the history of the Turkic World and emphasized the importance of further strengthening cooperation among Turkic-speaking countries. He noted that the conference serves as an important platform for discussing new ideas and projects in science, education, economy, and technology across the Turkic World, as well as for determining future strategies.
Chairman of the Turkish World Research Foundation, Közhan Yazgan, highlighted the strategic importance of TUDIFAK (Faculty of Economics of the Turkic World), which began its activity 33 years ago, in expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and other Turkic states. He emphasized that the faculty has always played a vital role by bringing together scholars and businesspeople from Turkic countries and hosting significant scientific events, contributing to knowledge and experience exchange.
Member of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, Ilyas Topsakal, spoke about the integration of Turkic World countries into the global system after the collapse of the Soviet Union. He noted that the initial economic ties gradually expanded to include social, cultural, scientific, educational, and other areas, deepening these connections. He added that the development of such ties further strengthens the shared future of the Turkic World countries.
Rector of the Three-Color RANCH Technology University of Uzbekistan, Juratbek Atajanov, discussed the role of economic development in strengthening the state. He touched on the positive impacts of Uzbekistan’s economic strategy on the fields of science, education, social and cultural sectors, and emphasized that this development has strengthened the country’s position on the international stage while paving the way for closer cooperation and mutually beneficial projects among the Turkic World countries.
Following the opening speeches, the conference continued with panel sessions on the topics: “A New Era of Sustainable and Green Economy in the Turkic World,” “Information Management and Artificial Intelligence,” and “Youth and Economic Development: New Generation Entrepreneurship and Startups.”
The two-day conference will host scholars, researchers, and business representatives from various countries to exchange knowledge and experiences.
