Among the members of the Public Supervisory Board, Professor Hikmet Alizade, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Psychology of BSU, member of the Council of State Support to NGOs under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Citizens’ Labor Rights Protection League Sahib Mammadov, and Sevinj Garayeva, as well as the heads of the relevant departments of the university have attended the reception.
Appeals on various issues were addressed to the rector on the “Open day”. Two people said they wanted to work at UNEC. Rector Adalat Muradov reacted very warmly to these appeals. He even offered one of them the following semester to teach a subject on his major at the faculty of Turkish World Economy at UNEC’s Zagatala branch of UNEC.
The appeal of a student who wanted to postpone the payment of his tuition fee has been resolved positively. The rector said that, in general, deans of the faculties were given full authority at UNEC in this regard. In other words, the deans could decide whether to allow students with financial hardship to pay their tuition in installments.
The rector also gave a positive answer to a request for a concession from a 5th-year student who were not allowed to take part at an exam for exceeding limit of absence mark and were not be able to attend classes due to illness.
There was only one complaint regarding the exam session, or rather the assessment of the student’s knowledge. Rector Adalat Muradov instructed the appeals commission to examine the appeal objectively and in accordance with the rules and instructed the heads of the relevant departments to take strict control of the appeal.
Almost having no complaints about the exam process were positively assessed by the members of the Supervisory Board were positively assessed on this Open Door Day. The member of the board, chairman of the Executive Committee of Citizens’ Labor Rights Protection League Sahib Mammadov said that no more complaints about lecturers, teaching process, exams on “Open Day” are the results of the ongoing work and reforms at UNEC in recent years. “The main thing from the appeals is that young, highly educated, knowledgeable people are eager to work at UNEC. This is due to the healthy environment at the university”, Sahib Mammadov added.
It should be noted that the winter exam session for the 2019/2020 academic year at UNEC ends on January 31 for students for full-time education. Examinations will start next week for students getting correspondent education.
