ABOUT US
The UNEC Language Center began its operations on October 7, 2022, within the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC). The center was established as part of the UNEC Lifelong Learning Center. Our primary goal is to offer quality education in English by organizing preparatory courses. We aim to support students in achieving the results they desire and developing their language skills through professional teacher support.

OUR COURSES:
Upon registering for our courses, students first take a PLACEMENT test to assess their English level. For any course, the first lesson is free as a trial. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a certificate. Classes are available both in-person and online. Teaching is conducted across all four UNEC academic buildings.
General English
The lessons are practical and focus on developing all four language skills (reading, writing, listening, and speaking). The main objective of the program is to take students from level 0 to at least B1 or higher. Within 7 months, you can progress from A1 to B1 level. There are also Speaking-based General English lessons available. Additionally, you can transition from A1 to B1 in just 4 months through intensive classes (4 days a week).
NOTE: Currently, there is a summer discount for General English lessons. For 6-person groups, the discounted price is 90 AZN.

IELTS
Course Program:
The program includes detailed explanations of IELTS Listening and Reading question types and strategies. Additionally, it covers IELTS Writing Task 1&2 structures with sample essays (with analysis) and essay evaluations. The IELTS Speaking section is explained in detail, covering all 3 parts, with necessary grammar and vocabulary. The course also includes a practice test.

Official IELTS Exams
As a partner of the BRITISH Council, UNEC Language Center organizes OFFICIAL IELTS exams. Mock IELTS exams are also available for preparation. The exams are monitored by the British Council and are conducted in both paper-based and computer-based formats.

Speaking
Course Program:
These lessons focus on conversation in English, mainly through discussions on various topics. Activities are designed to expand students’ vocabulary in English. Teachers explain sentence structure and provide guidance to improve fluency.

Any level is welcome.
Course Duration:
2 months (2 lessons per week, 90 minutes each).
Group Size:
Lessons are available individually or in groups of 3 or 6.
Academic English
Course Program:
The course begins with a 2-month Pre-IELTS program, focusing on grammar, vocabulary, reading, listening, writing, and speaking skills. Afterward, a 3-month main course prepares students for the Academic IELTS exam. The program includes essential vocabulary and grammar.
Target Score:
Minimum 6.5–7 (depending on the student’s performance and timely completion of tasks).
Course Start Level:
Pre-intermediate and Intermediate
Course Duration:
2 months (2 lessons per week, 1 to 1.25 hours each).
Group Size:
Lessons are available individually or in groups of 3 or 6.
Business English
Business English lessons are designed to meet communication needs in the workplace and to express oneself professionally in international meetings. These courses are aimed at business owners, entrepreneurs, and professionals.

– Business communication and discussion
– Presentation skills
– Telephone communication
– Participation and exchanging ideas in meetings
– Networking in business
– Understanding the status of companies in the business world
The program also includes essential vocabulary and grammar for Business English.

Pre-intermediate
Course Duration:
3 months (2 lessons per week, 90 minutes each).
Group Size:
Lessons are available individually or in groups of 3 or 6.
Teaching Staff:
Our courses are taught by certified teachers holding CELTA, TEFL, or international Aptis C certifications, with IELTS results of 8.5 and 8.0, and accredited by the British Council.
