UNEC employees are on a business trip to London
Director of UNEC Library-Information Center PhD in History Adila Abdullayeva and Director of Digital Technologies Department Zaur Aziz are on a business trip to London.
UNEC employees visited the London School of Economics, Birkbeck University, SOAS University, Aga Khan Library and British Library during the first days of the visit.
The employees who studied the advanced practice of the libraries of London universities got acquainted with the main directions of activity in this field, conditions created in libraries for students and researchers, digitization processes, use of electronic resources, innovative library systems, sustainable development goals of libraries, textbooks, rare and ancient publications.
During the meeting, extensive discussions were held on the prospects of developing joint projects between UNEC and London universities. The director of the Middle East and Central Asia collections of the British Library, which is the world’s richest book collection, Dr. Michael Erdman informed the employees about the library’s activities, as well as rare and ancient copies, manuscripts belonging to Azerbaijan. Then he shared his experience of the library’s automated processes, digital collections, and information systems, ensuring the information security of the British Library.
“UNEC martyrs”, “Azerbaijan economy” (infographic), “Exploring the green economy: issues, challenges and benefits”, as well as books dedicated to the economy of Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur, published by UNEC, were donated to the British Library. It was agreed that UNEC publications would be included in the rich collection of the British Library.
