The discussion of the topic “The Role of Scientific Research in the Cooperation of Universities and Business” was attended by the staff of the Russian School of Economics of UNEC and St. Petersburg State University of Economics as well as the representatives of SME and other universities of Azerbaijan.
At the opening of the event, the Director of the Department of Organization of Scientific Activities, Professor Zahid Mammadov drew the address of the Rector of UNEC Professor Adalat Muradov to the attention of the participants and wished success to the work of the conference.
Moderators of the round table, associate professor Mansur Barkhudarov, director of the UNEC Russian School of Economics, and Sevinj Abbasova, head of the “Applied Economics” department, noted that in today’s rapidly digitalized world, the issue of human capital and the quality of human resources has become one of the most important missions of state interests. In this direction, they emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation between the business world and higher education institutions.
Yelena Gorbashko, the vice-rector for scientific affairs of St. Petersburg State University of Economics, who was moderated by Russia, expressed her gratitude to the management of UNEC for creating the conditions for organizing an interesting and important scientific discussion and noted that the exchange of experience between universities will be beneficial for both parties.
Then professors Farhad Rahmanov and Gülanbar Azizova of the “Applied Economics” department, the lecturer Esmira Ahmadova, vice-rector for strategic development and external communications of St. Petersburg State University of Economics Olga Onufriyeva and other participants shared their opinions on various directions of higher education and business cooperation, as well as quality personnel training.
On the second day of the event, a series of events continued with the delegation from Russia. Prospects of cooperation between UNEC and the Center of Competences of St. Petersburg were discussed in the Field of Tourism and Hospitality at the round table dedicated to the topic “Development of art-tourism in the conditions of the digital society”.
Then the Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists, Maria Suchkova, met with a group of students of the Russian School of Economics who are active and interested in scientific projects and told them about potential opportunities for scientific advancement.
During the two-day event, the Russian School of Economics and the St. Petersburg State University of Economics discussed possible cooperation opportunities in scientific, educational, and other fields, and a preliminary agreement was reached on the publication of joint scientific publications and articles.
At the end of the round table, certificates were presented to the active participants of the event.
