New decisions are made at the Scientific Council of UNEC
At UNEC the first meeting of the Scientific Council of the new academic year has been held.
The memory of the martyrs was commemorated with a minute of silence at the Scientific Council.
At the opening of the council, UNEC rector Professor Adalat Muradov pointed out that a number of innovations would be implemented in the assessment of student knowledge in the new academic year. Then the vice-rector for educational affairs, associate professor Geray Musayev, made a speech on “Rules for the current and interim assessment of the knowledge of students at UNEC”. Afterwards, it was approved, taking into account the proposals of the council members.
The council heard the report of the director of the examination centre, associate professor Sohrab İsayev, about the end of the summer semester of the 2021/2022 academic year.
The rector’s adviser, associate professor Elshan Bagirzadeh introduced the rules of “Department Councils” and “Specialization Councils” to the members of UNEC. It was reported that the department councils will work in the direction of educational plans, lesson and exam schedules, preparation of documents, etc. The activity of speciality councils will be related only to specialities.
Elshan Bagırzadeh also spoke about the “Rules on the status and activities of a visiting scholar at UNEC”. He said that the rules cover the basics of the activity of visiting scholars working at UNEC for a certain period of time, as well as the rights and duties of a guest scientist, and evaluation.
The director of UNEC Business School associate professor Nazim Hajiyev made a proposal to change the structure of the school he leads. N. Hajiyev’s suggestions were accepted by council members.
The rector’s proposal to establish a psychological service centre at UNEC in order to ensure the psychological protection of employees and students, to form a positive behaviour model, to create a safe and healthy environment in the university, and support moral and psychological health, was voted and approved by the members of the council.
By the decision of the scientific council, the rules for the UDID program were also changed. So, according to the new rules, students with GPA between 71-100 points will be able to participate in the program, not in separate subjects.
It was also decided to make additions and changes to the student satisfaction questionnaire applied in the UNEC Eduman system.
The names of several departments operating under the faculties, centres and schools of UNEC have been changed. “Economics and management” department operating under the IMDC was renamed “Economic and technological sciences”, as well as the “Economy and business management” department “Business administration”, “Economics” (in Russian) “Applied economy”, “Finance and financial institutions” department “Finance and audit”, “International economics” department (in English) “International economy and business”, “Business administration” department “Business and logistics”.
The Scientific Council continued with the discussion of current issues.
