During the meeting, the Director of the Distance and Continuing Education Center, Mr. Sabuhi Tanriverdiyev, presented an overview of the outcomes of admissions for second higher education programs at UNEC for the 2024/2025 academic year. Mr. Tanriverdiyev reported that 279 students were admitted to second higher education programs this year and emphasized that the number of students enrolled in part-time education surpassed those admitted through the State Examination Center’s examinations, marking a notable achievement. He further noted that the most frequently selected programs included State and Municipal Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, and Management.
Subsequently, the Rector’s Advisor, Associate Professor Elshan Baghirzada, detailed amendments to the “Rules for the Implementation of a Differential Wage System Based on the Evaluation of the Professional Activities of UNEC’s Academic Staff” as well as changes to the “Internal Disciplinary Regulations for Students.” These amendments were unanimously approved by the members of the Council.
The session proceeded with a presentation by the Director of the Foreign Languages Department, Associate Professor Aysel Khalilova. She proposed conducting midterm examinations in German, Russian, and French for the “Business and Academic Communication in a Foreign Language” (XDİAK) subject using internationally recognized certification frameworks: ÖSD for German, TORFL for Russian, and TCF for French. The proposal was endorsed by the Council members.
Concluding the session, on the recommendation of UNEC’s Rector, Professor Adalat Muradov, the Council approved measures to enhance the social welfare of university staff. Starting in December, salaries for academic staff will be increased by 15%, while those for administrative personnel will see a 14% increase. These adjustments reflect the university’s commitment to improving the working conditions of its employees.
