A delegation from Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC), led by its Rector, Professor Adalat Muradov, participated in the event.
During the summit, Rector Adalat Muradov held meetings with Professor Zhanseit Tuymebayev, Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University; Professor Meyram Begentaev, Rector of Satbayev Kazakh National Research Technical University; and Professor Kanat Kojakhmet, President of Narxoz University. The discussions led to agreements for future collaboration among these institutions. Additionally, the Rector of UNEC engaged in dialogues with rectors from Uzbekistan, the UAE, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, and Japan to explore opportunities for academic partnerships.
As part of the “QS Higher Ed Pre-Summit: Asia Pacific 2024,” a “Fireside Chat” was organized with Professor Adalat Muradov, during which he delivered a presentation on the QS Sustainability Rankings, anticipated outcomes of COP29 for the sustainability of higher education institutions, and the significant role of TURKUNIB in fostering cooperation among universities across the Turkic world.
Professor Adalat Muradov further engaged in an exchange of perspectives with QS representatives regarding the strengthening of key factors that influence university standings in international rankings. He emphasized the summit’s value in providing insight into best practices of leading institutions in the QS rankings and expanding UNEC’s international collaborations.
In a meeting with QS Regional Director Sergey Khristolyubov, Professor Muradov shared his thoughts on the positioning of Azerbaijani universities within the QS rankings, highlighting that the current rankings do not accurately reflect the full potential of these institutions.
The QS representative commended UNEC as a leader in employability and sustainability among universities in Azerbaijan and the Caucasus, describing it as a source of pride.
