Martyrs are commemorated by UNEC
Azerbaijan State University of Economics’(UNEC) alumni, martyr Saleh Safarov’s birthday is on February 1.
Saleh Safarov was born in 1954 in the region of Aghdam. After getting the secondary education at school N1, he entered the School of Economy and Planning of the National Economy of the Institute of National Economy of Azerbaijan named after D.Bunyadzade (current Azerbaijan State University of Economics) in 1970. He graduated from the University in 1974.
He served at the military service in Ivanovo-Frankovski city of Ukraine within 1974-1976. After the military service he worked as an audit of the financial department of Agdam region. Saleh became a part-time student of the Agricultural Technical school of Aghdam region in 1977 and completed the same school in 1980. He was appointed the senior inspector to the Agdam region Department of Internal Affairs in 1983; in 1986 he became the captain, in 1990 was promoted to the rank of the major. S.Safarov became the part-time student of the School of Law of Baku State University in 1991. He began to work in the department of the fight against economic crime in 1992.
When Azerbaijani and Armenian conflict has begun, Saleh Safarov had stood in defense of the Aghdam region center and its residences together with the employees of the department. Saleh Safarov was killed in the fights in Giyasli province of Aghdam on January 15 in 1993.
Today martyr’s daughter GulchohreSalehzade is a teaching staff member of Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC).
