UNEC Research Fund Employees Honored by the President of Azerbaijan
On November 11–12, 2024, during the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, held in Baku, 12 employees of the UNEC Research Fund were honored with a “Letter of Appreciation” by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, His Excellency Ilham Aliyev, in recognition of their active and exemplary participation.
A formal presentation ceremony was held, attended by the President of the UNEC Research Fund, Mr. Farhad Amirkhanov, Rector of UNEC, Professor Adalat Muradov, and staff from the fund and the university.
Speaking at the event, Professor Adalat Muradov highlighted the exceptional leadership of His Excellency President Ilham Aliyev in hosting COP29 in Azerbaijan, describing it as a landmark event in the country’s history. Professor Muradov expressed immense pride in the recognition of UNEC employees’ contributions to COP29, reflecting the high regard in which their efforts are held by the President. He extended his sincere gratitude to His Excellency for this esteemed acknowledgment.
Mr. Farhad Amirkhanov, President of the UNEC Research Fund, delivered remarks on the fund’s activities, completed projects, and future initiatives. He praised the innovations implemented at UNEC and noted with pride that the majority of the fund’s staff are alumni of the university. Mr. Amirkhanov conveyed his gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and warmly congratulated the honored employees.
The ceremony concluded with Professor Adalat Muradov formally presenting the “Letters of Appreciation” to the 12 employees of the UNEC Research Fund, marking a moment of great recognition and celebration.
