The team’s project, SpecDeaf, was awarded first place in the HealthTech Entrepreneurship Challenge category at the competition held in Antalya, Turkey. This victory has secured their qualification for the world finals, which will take place in Italy.
The Eurasian stage of the competition saw participation from 584 teams representing 21 countries. Among 35 teams competing in their category, VerseTech distinguished itself by earning top honors. The team’s innovative technological solution, its potential for social impact, and its entrepreneurial approach were highly commended by the international panel of judges.
The SpecDeaf project is an advanced technological device designed to address the everyday challenges faced by individuals with hearing impairments. The smart device can be mounted on any pair of glasses and provides real-time transcription of spoken words directly in the user’s field of vision. It is also equipped with multilingual translation capabilities and an AI assistant. Designed for both daytime and nighttime use, SpecDeaf boasts a lightweight and portable form factor.
