UNEC celebrates Victory Day with a great ceremony
An event dedicated to November 8 – Victory Day has been held at UNEC.
The participants of the event paid tribute to the memory of the martyrs by placing flower bouquets in front of the Memorial-Commemorative Complex erected in memory of the martyred graduates and students of UNEC. They were also introduced to the paintings dedicated to Victory Day by the students of the UNEC Design School.
The dear memory of the martyrs was commemorated with a minute of silence and the National Anthem was played by the orchestra in the event attended by the staff of UNEC, families of martyrs, veterans, war participants, members of the orchestra of Military Institute named after Heydar Aliyev, people’s artist Nurettin Mehdikhanli and other guests.
People’s Artist of Azerbaijan Nurettin Mehdikhanli spoke at the event and talked about the history of the Victory, which resulted in a brilliant victory. The people of Azerbaijan united closely around the victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev and said that they had fully restored their sovereignty.
The rector of UNEC, Professor Adalat Muradov congratulated the participants on the occasion of Victory Day, called this victory the most glorious history of the Turkic World in the last 200 years, and said that thanks to the leadership of Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev and the valor of our heroic army, Azerbaijan is recognized as a victorious nation all over the world.
The rector suggested building a city in the name of Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev in the liberated territories and erecting his statue on the highest peak of Karabakh.
Adalat Muradov said that the memory of 48 students and graduates of UNEC who died for the country will always be cherished and will not be forgotten. He said that a piece of soil would be brought from the graves of those martyrs and kept in the UNEC museum.
Then Yaseman Jamalova, the mother of Teymur Majidzadeh, the martyr of the Patriotic War, and a graduate of UNEC, made a speech and expressed her pride that her child had a share in winning the glorious victory. She said that the souls of all the martyrs, along with his children, are happy on Victory Day, which is celebrated with great pride every year.
Gazanfar Agayev, a student of UNEC and a Hero of the Patriotic War, said that the path to victory stems from endless love for the Motherland.
At the event dedicated to Victory Day, a concert program dedicated to patriotism was presented under the artistic direction of Lieutenant Colonel Fariz Mammadzadeh, the head of the orchestra of the Heydar Aliyev Military Institute. The short scene dedicated to the martyrs by the members of the UNEC Creative Center gave emotional moments to the participants.
On the occasion of Victory Day, videos dedicated to the martyrs and our history of Victory were shown on monitors in all UNEC educational buildings.
