What is GPA and How is it Calculated?

To enhance students’ academic engagement, create a self-monitoring mechanism for them, and evaluate their academic achievements, the Grade Point Average (GPA) system is implemented.

The GPA is determined as the ratio of the sum of the products of scores obtained in each subject and the corresponding credits for that subject to the total number of credits specified in the academic curriculum:

Formula:
GPA=∑(b⋅k)∑k∗GPA=∑k∗∑(b⋅k)​

Where:

• b₁, b₂, …, bₙ – Scores obtained by the student in each subject
• k₁, k₂, …, kₙ – Credits assigned to each subject in the academic curriculum
• k₁, k₂, …, kₙ*** – Credits earned for each subject (If a student does not achieve a passing grade in an exam, the credits for that subject are considered as 0, meaning they are not earned.)

GPA is calculated cumulatively across semesters (for one semester, two semesters, three semesters, etc.).
