A Chief Executive of Sabail District Eldar Azizov, member of the Parliament Flora Gasimova, UNEC rector, Professor Adalat Muradov, academic staff, students and parents attended the event. The participants of the event got acquainted with the memorial tree erected in Khojali victim\u2019s memory, the leaves of which affect the victims\u2019 names, paintings reflecting the genocide and the exhibition of photos; paid tribute to genocide victims\u2019 memory with a minute\u2019s silence before the event.<\/p>\n
The participants of the event viewed a play \u201cA day in captivity\u201d prepared by UNEC Creativity Center. The play was built on the basis of the real accidents.<\/p>\n
After the performance, students who played the roles in the play and are the members of UNEC Creativity Center<\/a><\/span>\u00a0and the winners of the poetry and painting competition dedicated to Khojali genocide were introduced diplomas. Winner of the contest became the first year undergraduate of the International School of Economics<\/a><\/span>\u00a0Ilham Guliyev who sounded Khalil Rza Uluturk\u2019s poem \u201cCreate a School of Hate\u201d.<\/p>\n The event was live broadcast on UNEC\u2019s official Facebook.<\/p>\n A week from February 20 to 26 was announced the \u201cKhojali Week\u201d at UNEC in accordance with the actions plan \u201cAbout the organization of 25th<\/sup> anniversary of Khojali genocide in educational institutions\u201d approved by the Minister of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. A series of events were arranged in all academic buildings of the university, Zagatala branch<\/a><\/span>\u00a0and the Financial and Economic College<\/a><\/span>\u00a0as well. In the workshops and round-tables held at the university young people were urged to be active in delivering Azerbaijani truth to the world within the social networking. The exhibitions of photos and paintings about Khojali tragedy consisting of the students\u2019 works were displayed at the university and college. Films in Azerbaijani and English were demonstrated in all monitors placed at the university. First lessons conducted at UNEC, Zagatala branch and Financial and Economic College were devoted to Khojali genocide on February 24.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
