Born on January 3, 1968, in Baku, Azerbaijan, is a distinguished academic in the field of geography. She graduated from the Faculty of Geography at Baku State University.
In 1993, she began her career at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) in the “ASC” Department and, in 1994, transitioned to the “Geography” Department as a senior laboratory assistant. Since 1995, she has been a doctoral candidate at the department.

In 1999, Dr. Asgarova was appointed as a part-time lecturer, and in 2000, she became a full-time lecturer. The same year, she defended her candidate dissertation and was awarded the title of Candidate of Geographical Sciences (Ph.D.).
In 2007, she was promoted to the position of Senior Lecturer. She has authored 14 scientific articles, 2 methodological guides, 1 textbook (authored the 8th section), and 2 programs.
Currently, Mehriban Asgarova serves as an Associate Professor in the “Environmental Protection and Economics” Department at UNEC.
She is married and has one child.
