Born in 1954 in Gashkachay village, Gakh district, is a prominent scholar in the field of economic and social geography.
He graduated from Gashkachay Secondary School in 1971. Between 1971 and 1975, he pursued a degree in geography teaching at the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical Institute.
From 1975 to 1982, he worked as a geography teacher at Garatal Village School in Gakh district. In 1982, he was admitted to the full-time postgraduate program at the Geography Institute of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), named after H.A. Aliyev.
Upon completing his postgraduate studies in 1985, he began working in the “Economic Geography” department of the Institute as a senior laboratory assistant. Over time, he progressed through various roles, including engineer, junior researcher, researcher, and senior researcher.

In 1995, he defended his candidate dissertation on “Economic and Geographic Problems of Agricultural Production Spatial Organization in the Shirvan Economic Region,” earning the title of Candidate of Geographical Sciences (Ph.D.) in the field of Economic and Social Geography (11.00.02).
Since 2001, he has been affiliated with the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC), initially serving as a senior lecturer in the “Environmental Protection and Economics” Department. He currently holds the position of Associate Professor in the same department.
Dr. Abdullayev is the author and co-author of one textbook, one teaching program, numerous government-funded scientific research projects, and more than 30 scientific articles.
