UNEC and Five Universities of Kyrgyzstan Reach Agreement on Academic Cooperation

During its official working visit to Kyrgyzstan, the UNEC delegation held a series of meetings at the I. Arabaev Kyrgyz State University (KSU) and the Kyrgyz National University (KNU), the latter being the second-largest higher education institution in the country by student enrollment.

At KNU, the delegation met with Kamchybek U. Mirzabek, Vice-Rector for Research; Prof. Nuriza Musayeva, Dean of the Higher School of Economics; as well as other senior administrators. The UNEC representatives were briefed on the university’s academic activities, international partnerships, and strategic development priorities. The UNEC delegation, in turn, provided detailed information on the university’s recent achievements, implemented initiatives, and institutional goals. The parties exchanged views on expanding cooperation in joint scientific research, development of academic programs, and student mobility.

Following this meeting, UNEC’s Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Saadat Gandilova; Scientific Secretary Arabiyya Mustafayeva; Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting, Assoc. Prof. Hafis Hajiyev; Head of the Finance and Audit Department, Prof. Avaz Alakbarov; Head of the Public Relations Department, Elnara Omarova; and Head of the Internal Audit Department, Assoc. Prof. Rashad Muradov, visited the I. Arabaev Kyrgyz State University for discussions with Aychurok Mirzalimbekova, Acting Vice-Rector for International Relations and Investments; Maksatbek Koychumanov, Director of the Institute of Economics and Management; and other unit leaders.

The meeting focused on institutional governance in higher education, expansion of international academic networks, faculty and student exchange, establishment of dual degree programs, preparation of joint scientific publications, and organization of conferences and academic events. The parties also underscored the importance of integrating digital learning platforms, applying artificial intelligence in teaching and administration, and exchanging best practices in innovation and startup ecosystem development.

As a result of the discussions, both universities expressed readiness to broaden cooperation across mutually beneficial areas.

It should be noted that the UNEC delegation visited Kyrgyzstan from 26 to 28 November, during which agreements on cooperation were reached with five higher education institutions of the country.
