Academician Telman Aliyev: “We observe high growth dynamics in UNEC for the last 5 years”
The next discussion made within the framework of “Science Month” in UNEC was “Science about science”.
The event was attended by the rector of UNEC, professor Adalat Muradov, director of Management Systems Institute (MSI) of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences academician Telman Aliyev and the academic staff of the university.
Speaking about the importance of establishing “Science Day” in the country by the order of president Ilham Aliyev, rector Adalat Muradov said that the “Science Month” had started in UNEC since February. Speaking about the scientific discussions with the well-known scholars of the country within the framework of “Science Month”, the rector started a conversation about the contribution of academician Telman Aliyev to the world science. Emphasizing the importance of involving young people with intellectual potential in scientific research in the country, the rector noted that they have no alternative to solve scientific problems. Speaking about the difference between an educational worker and a scientific worker, the rector saw the settlement of this problem in the creation of the unity of scientists and teachers. Then the rector asked the question: “Can a person be both a scientist and a teacher?”.
Academician Telman Aliyev, pointing out that the modern era is based on the knowledge economy, said that UNEC experts were prepared to contribute to the development of the economy. The academician, who called UNEC as the pillar of the country’s economy, underlined the high dynamics of growth in the higher education institution over the last five years and the formation of a new higher education mechanism. He expressed confidence that UNEC will achieve greater success with the progressive ideas.
The academician made a speech with a presentation on the history, situation and perspectives of information and management science in Azerbaijan. He noted that thanks only to the attention and care of the National leader, Azerbaijan is one of the world′s leading countries in this area, pointing out the rapid development of the field of information in the country after the great leader Heydar Aliyev′s coming to power.
Then the academic staff made a speech with the offers and their questions were answered.
Finally, academician Telman Aliyev was awarded with a Honorary Decree for his report on “History, situation and perspectives of information and management science in Azerbaijan” in “Science Month” held in UNEC.
