Scientific Conference held at UNEC: “International Competitiveness of Azerbaijan and the Ways of its Improvement”
Scientific Conference on “International Competitiveness of Azerbaijan and the Ways of its Improvement” has been held at Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) on April 7.
Azerbaijan’s positions in “Global Competitiveness Report”, directions of improving the country’s competitiveness and opportunities in recent years have been discussed in the seminar.
The employee of the Scientific Research Institute of Economic Studies Rafail Rzayev has delivered the information about the results of comparative analysis of the international competitiveness of Azerbaijan. The speaker has noted that recently Azerbaijan holds the highest position in terms of competitiveness among the CIS countries and even ahead of some developed countries. However, the high level of mid and long term competitiveness of the country and the implementation of several measures to raise it further are needed.
To increase the international competiveness of Azerbaijan the necessity of innovations for a comprehensive promotion has been highlighted. It was said that the increase of export potential to increase competitiveness is the priority issue. Therefore, clustering the country’s economy and its joining to the global re- production chains and trans-nationalization are of great importance.
Exchange of views on the ways of improving the international competitiveness has been made within the event.
