Intensive internship program for Swiss students launched at UNEC

An intensive internship program has been inaugurated at Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) for master’s students from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Western Switzerland (HES-SO).

Organized within the framework of cooperation between the two universities, the program runs from September 29 to October 10.

A total of 19 master’s students from the faculty of Management and Administration of HES-SO are participating under the supervision of associate professor Julia Wirth. The program is being implemented on the basis of a specially designed intensive curriculum prepared by UNEC’s Project Management Department.

At the opening ceremony, UNEC’s vice-rector for international relations, doctor of philosophy in economics Huseyn Hasanov, welcomed the guests and emphasized that this initiative would make a significant contribution to the development of academic and professional cooperation between Azerbaijan and Switzerland. He also provided the Swiss students with a comprehensive overview of UNEC and wished them success in the internship program.

Following the opening, an informational tour of the university was organized for the students.

It should be noted that within the two-week program, participants will gain knowledge on topics related to Azerbaijan-Switzerland economic relations, business environment, and foreign trade with the participation of local and international experts. In addition, visits to a number of state institutions are also planned.
