T.Osmanov was born in Gakh region in 1950. Studied at the secondary school within 1957-1967yy.
He was enrolled the Faculty of Commodity Research of the Institute of People’s Economy named after D.Bunyadzade the same year after completing the school in 1967 and graduated from the Institute in “Commodity Research of Industrial Goods and Organization of Trade” in 1971.
Beginning from December of 1971, he started to work as a teaching staff and senior teacher of the Department of “Commodity Research of Industrial Goods” of AIPE named after D.Bunyadzade.
He became a post-graduate student in 1974 and received a Candidate’s Degree in Technical Sciences after defending his thesis on “Friction of PVC- based Linoleums in exploitation condition and the investigation of stability of main hygienic characteristics” in the session of Specialized Academic Council of Moscow Cooperation Institute in 1981.
He made a speech in the scientific-practical conference dedicated to the Problems of Commodity Research held in the cities of Moscow and Donetsk within 1970-1980yy.
In the years of 1992-2000 he served as a Dean of the Faculty of Commodity Research at the Institute of Commodity Research and Commerce of Baku, in 2000-2004 as a Dean of the Faculty of Commodity Research of the University of Economics. From 2004 he became a Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Commodity Research. Currently He is a Dean of the Faculty of Expertise and Standardization.
T.Osmanov is the author of more than 150 scientific articles, including 20 textbooks and 5 teaching materials dedicated to the modern problems of commodity research. The research carried out was directed to determine sustainability of the more narrow function linoleums from PVC in different aggressive environment, science-based methods of their pollution and treatment, investigation of the resistance of linoleums against abrasion in laboratory conditions by matching them of maximum operating condition and hygienic properties and finally to the issue of consumption of scientific classification of polymer floor materials.
He was awarded a medal of “Progress” by the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
According to the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated September 24, 2020, he was awarded the honorary title of “Honored Teacher” on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of Azerbaijan State University of Economics and for his services to the development of education in Azerbaijan.
He is married, has two children and a grandchild.
