Along with the academic-teaching staff of UNEC, the heads and representatives of the leading business orgaizations of the country participated in the scientific-practical conference dedicated to the topic the “Mutual Unity of Economics, Business and University: global challenges and new opportunities”.
The rector of the UNEC, professor Adalat Muradov noted that training of personnel meeting the requirements of the labor market was one of the important issues facing at higher education institutions and spoke about the importance of unity of science – education and business. The rector, pointing out the purposeful steps taken by UNEC in this area, drew attention to UNEC2B, the new strategic coopertaion platform of university with the business world. He said that, the UNEC2B platform created the extensive opportunities for the university to operate together with the labour market. The rector emphasized that, business persons played the important role in the training of personnel and stated the importance of involving of enterpreneurs in the discussions of the new standards in economics and management specialties at the bachelor’s degree of education. A. Muradov, speaking about the interest of business persons in scientific researches, said that it was time for applying the DBA (Doctor of Business Administration) education for the development of research, meeting the requirements, and noted the need for the innovative approahes in the higher education.
The chairman of National Confederation of Enterpreuners (Employers’) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ASK) Mammad Musayev spoke about the importance of establishing the closer relations between the enetrpreuners and the higher education institutions for the development of the country’s economy. He said that, the theoretical knowledge at universities did not meet the requirements of the day and characterised the UNEC2B platform, as responding to the challenges of the labour market, and as a very successful project in this regard. M.Musayev stressed that 90% of the economist personnel of the country were, in particular, the alumni of UNEC and made proposals for the establishment of relations between the business sectors and the higher education institutions in line with the requirements of the day. The chairman of National Confederation of Enterpreuners (Employers’) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ASK), underlining the shortage of experts in the problem loans area in Azerbaijan, recommended to the universities to take these factors into account more in the training of staff. He called on the business entities to cooperate with the relevant chairs of UNEC.
The head of the Science Department of UNEC, professor Zahid Mammadov made the presentation on the topic “Mutual Unity of Economics, Business and University: global challenges and new opportunities”. The professor pointed out that, the mission of the universities were one of the most topical issues under discussion in the world and spoke about the challenges set before the universities. He shared the world experience in the activites of scientific research-oriented universities.
The heads of the business entities delivering the speech in the event, spoke about the favorable investment environment created for eneterpreuners in the country and the positive impact of reforms carried out in the eduaction sector according to these targets, on the development of the private sector. The speakers assessed the situation in regard with the innovation in higher education and the requirements for the personnel needed for developing the private sector.
