Along with the management and academic-teaching staff of the university, the Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Erkan Ozoral, the Turkish Youth and Sports Minister Dr.Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoglu, the Head of the Turkish World Research Foundation Kozhan Yazgan, the Head of the Turkey-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Friendship Group, deputy of Turkish Parliament from AKP Istanbul Shamil Ayrım, the rector of the Istanbul University, professor Mahmut Ak and other influential guests participated at the conference held by the organization of UNEC and supported by the Turkish World Research Foundation.
The rector of UNEC, professor Adalat Muradov described the teaching at the Azerbaijan Sate Economics University in the administrative and literary Turkish language as one of the greatest indicators of importance and value given to Turkism. The rector pointed out that, the teaching in Turkish language was created on the initiative of the late head of Turkish World Research Foundation, the professor Turan Yazgan and he spoke on the targets of the Turkish World Business Administration Faculty (TUDIFAK): “Our goal is to transform the Turkish World Business Administration Faculty (TUDIFAK) into an educational space that can meet the requirements of the Turkish world and the worldwide quality standards. The ultimate goal is to create a new university on the basis of faculty and to enable the Turkish youth to study at that university.” Noting that, the new specialties have been opened in the faculty this year, the rector pointed out that the number of entrants receiving high scores in the admission exams to the faculty increased compared to the previous years.
A.Muradov emphasized the importance of implementation of dual degree programs with Turkish universities in order to increase the quality and attractiveness of education in the Turkish World Business Administration Faculty (TUDIFAK).
Speaking about the cooperation of UNEC with influential Turkish universities, the rector noted that the development of joint textbooks and publication of scientific articles in famous journals would play an important role in improving the quality of education in both countries.
Delivering the speech at the conference, Erkan Özoral spoke about Turkish-Azerbaijan relations. Noting that Azerbaijan has occupied its worthy place in the world scene, Ambassador said that along with brotherly and friendly relations, both countries have successfully cooperated in all spheres. Pointing out that the number of Azerbaijanis studying in Turkey has increased year by year; the ambassador emphasized the importance of cooperation between universities in this direction. “Our goal is to further increase the academic level of the two countries,” said the Turkish diplomat, adding that the organization of the conference will play an important role in this direction. Expressing his satisfaction with being in friendly and brotherly country, Mehmed Muharrem Kasapoglu said that, Turkey supported Azerbaijan in all spheres. M.Kasapoglu said that the foundation of these relations is connected with the historical roots, and noted that Nationwide Leader Heydar Aliyev played an indispensable role in this direction. The minister underlined that, he proudly followed the successful diverse development of Azerbaijan and spoke about important economic projects signed between the two countries.
The member of Parliament Shamil Ayrim talked about the achievements of Professor Turan Yazgan in the field of science and education. Noting that T.Yazgan greatly contributed to the development of young people connected with national and spiritual values, the Member of Parliament expressed his confidence that thanks to these young people, Azerbaijan will achieve the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, which is also a problem of Turkey.
The rector of the Istanbul University, Professor Mahmud Ak spoke about the life and activities of the late professor Turan Yazgan. Was noted that he had attached great importance to the development of education in the Turkish world, including Azerbaijan, the main goal of this policy was to unite the Turkish nation.
In the conference the poems were performed by the students of Ataturk Lyceum.
The international conference continued with panel discussions on the topic the “Directions of cooperation in improving the quality of academic activities at UNEC and Turkish universities”.
