According to the latest report issued by IFLA, the organization unites 1,598 members from 151 countries and operates as one of the largest and most influential platforms within the global library community. This membership represents a significant milestone for the UNEC Library and Information Center, enabling it to integrate into the international community of library and information professionals, engage in knowledge exchange at the global level, and broaden its opportunities for professional advancement.
Membership in this international organization confers a number of advantages upon the library. In particular, the UNEC Library becomes part of the global voice of library and information services while also acquiring the right to vote in decision-making processes. Furthermore, it gains the opportunity to establish connections within an international network, exchange advanced practices, and enhance professional competencies through participation in various seminars, meetings, and training programs.
Within the framework of this membership, the library will also have regular access to information on innovations and significant developments in the field, benefit from a 25% discount on registration fees for the IFLA World Library and Information Congress 2026, and obtain preferential terms for IFLA publications.
In addition, the UNEC Library and Information Center has been granted the opportunity to join IFLA’s European Regional Division, which will contribute to the further expansion of regional cooperation.
It should also be noted that the library has been granted the right to use the official IFLA membership emblem.
