Yusif Namaz oghlu Ibrahimov
Born in 1951 in the village of Molla Maharramli, Fuzuli district.
He began his education at Ahmedalilar Village Secondary School in 1957 and graduated in 1967.
In 1968, he enrolled in the Faculty of Mechanics at Azerbaijan Technical University, specializing in “Machine-Building Technology, Metal-Cutting Machines, and Tools.” Upon completing his studies in 1974, he earned the qualification of mechanical engineer.
Following his military service from 1974 to 1975, Dr. Ibrahimov began his professional career at the Baku Refrigeration Plant, where he worked as an engineer-technologist and senior engineer-technologist until 1980. During this time, he conducted pioneering research on tool steels, earning his first patent for rapid tool steels in 1979.
From 1980 to 1993, he held the position of division head at the “Kristal” Experimental Factory under the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS). His academic pursuits led him to become a Ph.D. candidate at the ANAS Institute of Physics in 1984, and in 1991, he successfully defended his dissertation at the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys, earning the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences.
His teaching career commenced in 1993 at the Baku Higher Combined Arms Commanders’ School, where he served until 1996. He later joined the Science and Education Center “Tafakkur” University as an associate professor, holding the position until 2000. In August of that year, he was appointed senior lecturer in the Department of “Production Technology and Industrial Ecology” at Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC). Since 2003, he has been serving as an associate professor in UNEC’s Department of “Environmental Protection and Economics.”
Dr. Ibrahimov is recognized as an honorary innovator of the Soviet era. His scholarly contributions include eight patents and over 78 publications, comprising articles, work programs, and teaching materials. His dedication to advancing environmental protection and industrial technologies has left a lasting impact on his field.
Married, with two children, Yusif Ibrahimov continues to contribute to academia and research, exemplifying a lifelong commitment to education and innovation.
