Prior to the official ceremony, participants paid their respects at the Alley of Honor, laying flowers at the tomb of the National Leader, Heydar Aliyev, and honoring his esteemed memory.
The celebratory event featured an exhibition of artwork created by the college’s students, alongside conference materials dedicated to the institution’s nine-decade legacy.
In his opening remarks, UNEC Rector Professor Adalat Muradov extended congratulations to the college’s faculty and staff on this significant milestone, wishing them continued success in their endeavors. He highlighted the college’s distinction as the first institution in Azerbaijan to offer specialized secondary education in economics. Professor Muradov also noted that, prior to the Armenian occupation, the college operated a branch in Khojaly, and emphasized the institution’s commitment to reinstating this branch in the near future. Additionally, he proposed several initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of college education within Azerbaijan.
Subsequent speakers included Professor Anar Isgandarov, Chairman of the Science and Education Committee of the Milli Majlis; Arzu Naghiyev, Chairman of the Defense, Security, and Anti-Corruption Committee; and Professor Aminaga Sadigov, Deputy Director of the State Agency for Science and Higher Education. Each extended their felicitations to the college community on this auspicious occasion.
The event also paid tribute to the college’s alumni who sacrificed their lives during the Patriotic War-Murad Gurbanov, Migdad Abdulalimov, and Elshan Ibrahimov- by presenting their portraits to their respective parents.
The anniversary celebration concluded with a cultural program, featuring artistic performances by the students, showcasing their talents and adding a festive atmosphere to the occasion.
