A Series of events connected with the Constitution Day held at UNEC
Enlightening events in connection with the Constitution Day were held at Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) on November 11.
Opening the ceremony which was started with the National Anthem, Vice-rector of UNEC for Students’ Affairs Saadat Gandilova congratulated the academic and students staffs with the Constitution Day. Providing the participants with the information about the history of the day, S.Gandilova said that the ground for the new Constitution appeared after Azerbaijan gained its independence. The commission headed by the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev submitted the draft Constitution to the referendum. The first Constitution of Independent Azerbaijan was adopted by national referendum on November 12 1995.
Then the teaching staff of the Department of “Economic Law” revealed the Constitution’s essence to students and its legal basis. He said that the Constitution acts as a guarantor of political stability, social peace and national reconciliation, has a significant impact to legal and political relationship and legal thinking.
The SYO Chairman of the Faculty of Economy Zaur Musazade also made a report on the Constitution Day.
Another event dedicated to the Constitution Day was jointly organized by the School of Finance and Accounting and the Distance, Part-time and Secondary Education Center. The School Dean Geray Musayev spoke about the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev’s historical unprecedented contributions in the development and adoption of the Constitution.
The Director of the Distance, Part-time and Secondary Education Center Sabuhi Tanriverdiyev delivered the information about the provisions of Azerbaijan’s Basic Law. He said that the human factor which is the driving force of the free society is centered in the Constitution. In this regard, when the balance between the interests of the state, public and citizens is protected and the human rights fundamental freedoms are guaranteed the kind of Constitution serves to the development of society and people as a whole.
Event on “Constitution is the Value of the Democratic Society” was organized at Zagatala Branch of UNEC. After the Director of the University Orujali Rzayev congratulated the teaching and student staffs on the occasion of the Constitution Day, the Assistant Professor of the University Jamal Arikhov made a speech on “The Foundation of the Legal and Political System” and the senior teacher Bahar Ismayilova on November 12- the Constitution Day”. A video devoted to the Constitution Day was demonstrated.
The event was completed with the literary- artistic composition “My Independent Azerbaijan”.
