Ph.D. in Geography, Senior Lecturer
Saida Ismat gizi Sultanli
Born on September 4, 1966, in Baku, Azerbaijan, into a civil servant family, is a scholar in the field of economic geography and environmental studies.
She began her education at Secondary School No. 248 in Baku in 1973 and graduated in 1983. In 1986, she was admitted to the Faculty of Geography at Baku State University, completing her degree in 1991.
From 1987 to 1992, she worked as a methodologist at the Baku “Young Tourists Station.” Between 1994 and 2003, she served as a laboratory assistant in the Department of “Economic Geography and Methodology of Geography Teaching” at the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University.
In 2003, she joined the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) as a senior laboratory assistant in the Department of “Economic Geography and Trade Information Technology.” Starting in 2004, she began teaching part-time (0.5 full-time equivalent) in the “Environmental Protection and Economics” Department, where she has served as a senior lecturer since 2013.

In 2008, Dr. Sultanli defended her dissertation on “Economic and Geographical Features of Tourism Development in Azerbaijan” at the Institute of Geography of ANAS, named after Academician H.A. Aliyev, earning the title of Doctor of Philosophy in Geography.
She is the author of 17 scientific works, including a textbook and a monograph.
Ms. Sultanli is married and has two children.
