In order to ensure the implementation of the decisions of the online meeting of the UNEC Scientific Council dated 31 May 2020, SC-172 and the online meeting of 14 September 2020, SC-173, on 19.10.2020, “Technology and design ”faculty was abolished and“ Digital economy ”faculty was established on its basis.
On October 19, 2020, the department of “Digital Technologies and Applied Informatics” was established at the Faculty of “Digital Economy”.
A “Laboratory Work Organization Center” has been established at UNEC to ensure effective management of the laboratories established under the “Engineering” and “Digital Economy” faculties.
“Digital economy” faculty and the department included in it are universities of the republic and foreign countries: Institute of Management and Institute of Information Technologies and High Technologies Park of ANAS, Prague Business School in the Czech Republic, University of Dunaújváros in Hungary and Mykolas Romeris University in Lithuania and Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, as well as It has close scientific cooperation with Aligarh Muslim University and Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) of India.
In the 2024/2025 academic year, 354 students in 5 specialties were admitted to the faculty, 224 of them scored more than 600, and 53 scored more than 650. The highest score at the university (692.8) was on the “Information security” (in English) specialty of the Faculty of Digital Economy.

In order to ensure the effective management of the work of the laboratories created under the faculties of “Engineering” and “Digital Economy” at UNEC, the “Laboratory Work Organization Center” was established.

– “Food technologies” laboratory;

– “Physics 1” laboratory;
– “Physics 2” laboratory;
– “Chemistry 1” laboratory;
– “Chemistry 2” laboratory;
– “Electronics” laboratory;
– “Electrical engineering” laboratory;
– “Material Science” laboratory;
– “Communication system engineering” laboratory;
– “Machine and industrial engineering” laboratory;
– 2 “Computer” laboratories.
