He was born on January 19, 1950 in Aghdam region.
In 1967-1971 he studied at the faculty of Industrial Economics of Azerbaijan Institute of National Economy named after D. Bunyadzade (now Azerbaijan State University of Economics) and graduated with honors. In the same year, he was sent to work as an economist at the newly built Baku Machine-Building Plant.
In 1972-1973 he served in the military in Murmansk region. In 1974-1975 he worked as a researcher at the Research Institute of Economics under the State Planning Committee of the Azerbaijan SSR.
In 1975-1978 he studied at the postgraduate course in political economy at Azerbaijan State University. In 1978, he was appointed a teacher at the department of Political Economy.
In 1975, he entered the full-time postgraduate department of political economy at Azerbaijan State University (now Baku State University). In December 1978, he was appointed a teacher at the department of Political Economy by the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Azerbaijan SSR.
In 1980, he defended his dissertation on “The law of social division of labor and its activities in advanced socialism” and was awarded the title of Candidate of Economic Sciences.
In 1982 he was elected a senior lecturer at Azerbaijan State University, in 1986 he was elected an associate professor.
In June 1998, he was elected head of the department of Economic Theory at Baku State University.
In 2001, he defended his doctoral dissertation on “Socio-economic problems of the social division of labor.”
Since 2008 he has been working in the field of science and education at Azerbaijan State University of Economics.
In 2010, he was elected a professor at the University of Economics, and in the same year his professorship was approved by the Supreme Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In 1999 he published a book entitled “International division of labor: formation, dynamics and structure”, in the same year he published a monograph “Social division of labor and its socio-economic problems”, in 2002 and 2004 textbook “Economic Theory”. In 2005 a large 632-page monograph entitled “Modern Economic System and Globalization” and a 552-page monograph entitled “The Dictatorship of Money” were published in 2014.
He is the author of 6 books and 122 articles.
He has won the GAES (German Academic Exchange Service) competition three times. He was the winner of the GAES competition 3 times (01.10.1998 – 01.12.1998, 2004, 25.06 – 25.09 2010) at the University of Stuttgart, Germany.
He has been the official opponent of more than 10 doctoral and candidate dissertations.
He is a member of the Specialized Council for Doctoral Dissertation (D.01.181) in the Republic under the Institute of Economics of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. He is a member of the Republican Council on Problems of Organization and Coordination of Scientific Research on Economics.
He is currently a professor at the department of Theoretical and Practical Economics at UNEC.
He is married and has two children.
