Vahid Gurban oghlu Aghayev
Born on February 2, 1947, in Atakishili village, Kurdamir district, into a civil servant family, has dedicated his career to academia and public service.
He pursued his higher education at the Faculty of Geology and Geography at S.M. Kirov Azerbaijan State University (now Baku State University) from 1965 to 1970.
From 1972 to 1974, he served as Secretary of the Kurdamir District Committee of the Azerbaijan Komsomol Youth Union. Subsequently, from 1974 to 1989, he worked at the Institute of Economics under the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, holding positions as Junior Researcher and Senior Researcher.

In 1981, Dr. Aghayev defended his dissertation and was awarded the title of Candidate of Economic Sciences (equivalent to Ph.D.).
Between 1989 and 1995, he worked at the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy. From 1995 to 2001, he served as an Associate Professor at the Baku Institute of Commodity Studies and Commerce. Since 2001, he has been an Associate Professor in the Department of “Environmental Protection and Economics” at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC).
Dr. Aghayev is the author of over 50 scientific articles and methodological works, contributing significantly to the field of environmental economics.
He is married, with three children and five grandchildren.
