Presentation on “Azerbaijan’s Model of Higher Education” at the State University of Pennsylvania
Vice-rector of Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) for International Affairs and Programs Shahin Bayramov made an extensive presentation on “Azerbaijan’s Model of Higher Education” at the State University of Pennsylvania on November 16.
Sh.Bayramov spoke about the completion of the process of transition to a new model of higher education, establishment of private higher education institutions in our republic and the issues of the country’s accession to the Bologna process. He provided detailed information about the application features of the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), experience of the creation of new areas of specialization, principles of management in the field of higher education, a new mechanism of financing of higher education and university admission model at the universities of Azerbaijan. The main priorities of the state policy on the development of higher education in Azerbaijan, targets determined with the Development Conception “Azerbaijan 2020: Vision to Future” and the events implemented within the “State Strategy on the Development of Education in the Republic of Azerbaijan” were of great interest by the academic and student staffs of the State University of Pennsylvania.
At the end of the presentation delivering a number of data about our country Sh.Bayramov answered the questions of the participants.
