RUSSIAN LANGUAGE
In order to ensure the implementation of the decision No. 172 of the online meeting of the UNEC Scientific Council dated May 31, 2020, the department of “Russian language” was abolished on 07.09.2020 and merged with the department of “Foreign languages”.

About the department
The department of “Russian language” has been operating as an independent department since 1972 at Azerbaijan Institute of National Economy.
At different times the department was headed by Candidate of ped. scien., Assist. professor A.B.Kazimova (1972-1979), Candidate of ped. scien., Assist. professor N.H.Abdulzade (1979-1984), Candidate of phil.scien, Assist.Prof. A.N.Klimova (1984-1988), Candidate of ped. scien., Assist. professor., S.M.Allahverdiyeva (1988-1991), Doctor of phil. scien, Prof. S.S. Mirzayev (1991-2001), Candidate of ped. scien., Assist. professor, N. T Valiyeva (2001-2006), senior teacher A.T Hajiyev (2006-2008). From 2008 to 2020, the department was headed by Ph.D in Philology., Associate Professor Rzayeva Gulnara Namik .
Although the department is structurally part of the faculty of Business Administration, it is a university-wide department. Because the subjects “Russian language” and “Business correspondence” are taught in the first and second years of the bachelor’s degree, as well as in the first year of the master’s degree.
The main purpose of the department “Russian language” is to raise the quality of teaching Russian as a foreign language to the level of modern requirements. For this purpose, teachers use innovative teaching methods (sinkway, cluster, brainstorming, decision tree, etc.), ICT tools in the classroom in accordance with the requirements of modern times.
At UNEC, the teaching of Russian as a foreign language begins with the alphabet, as well as the grammar of the language is taught, and speech activities such as speaking, reading and writing are developed. Textbooks, recommendations, programs related to the subjects taught by the staff of the department were developed and published. The staff of the department also translated textbooks from Russian into Azerbaijani: N.D.Brovkina «Основы финансового контроля»;. V.A.Qalanov «Рынок ценных бумаг»; N.M.Sabitova, M.Y.Orlova, Ç.M.Şavaleyeva «Государственный финансовый контроль».
The club “Russian Word” operates under the department. In this club, discussions are held in Russian with students interested in the Russian language on topics related to various sectors of the economy, and students’ oral speech is further developed. Our students participated in subject Olympiads held in Russia and were awarded diplomas of I, II, III degrees.
