Experts of the “Thomson Reuters” conduct training for UNEC’s research fellows

Training on “Using the Web of Science Database and Operation Rules” was held at UNEC. Fifty scholars and research fellows joined the training taken place within the international scientific- practical conference on “Modern Management Model of Scientific Activity at Universities”.

Director of UNEC’s Science Department, Professor Zahid Mammadov noted that UNEC has subscribed for the platform “Web of Science” of “Thomson Reuters” that is the global scientific database of higher education institutions since 2016; at the same time, the company conducts trainings here.

Z.Mammadov brought attention that the access to the prestigious authoritative scientific platforms enables UNEC to enhance the information provision of scientific research carried out at the University. He said the process of cadres’ development in graduate and doctorate levels makes it necessary to apply the latest achievements in science to teaching. In this regard, the intensive use of such a platform by the graduate and post graduate students of UNEC, teachers and scientific supervisors will make positive impact to the performances of the universities in this direction.

A Department Director of “Thomson Reuters” Valentin Bogorov noted that the investigators will get a chance of choosing scientific information and publications, at the same time, to print them. The trainees will get acquainted with the latest achievements of the global science and research activities, along with access to the first- class scientific databases.

It was highlighted in the training that the articles prepared in accordance with the standards and context of the publications of scientific platforms of “Thomson Reuters” would cause the improvement of scientific research works in form and content. In addition, they will take a chance of becoming familiar with the works realized by the world’s reputable scholars who conduct research on the problems of the science and choose partners among them. The dedication of scientific research to topical issues creates a great opportunity for the teacher to be recognized as a scientist by his collaborators, students and in general, among the public. The formation of the teacher in higher education institution as a researcher, scientist influences to the formation of his students as a researcher.
