UNEC celebrates its 94th anniversary
On the occasion of the 94th anniversary of the establishment of the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC), a ceremonial “UNEC Day” has been celebrated at the university.
Speaking at the opening of “UNEC Day”, Vice-Rector for Administrative and Organizational Affairs Associate Professor Shaig Asgarov congratulated teachers, students and staff on behalf of the university management and wished them success in their activities.
Within the framework of the event, an exhibition of interesting caricature works of UNEC employee, well-known caricaturist Seyran Jafarli, dedicated to various topics was shown. Well-known artists of the country also made a speech at the opening of the exhibition, which was received with great interest by the participants. The speakers spoke about the peculiarities of caricature art and Seyran Jafarli’s success in this field. They said that individual exhibitions of S. Jafarli were organized in many countries of the world. His works have been awarded gold, silver, bronze medals and special diplomas, as well as more than 60 prizes in international caricature competitions, and his works have been published in about 200 catalogues.
- Jafarli expressed his pride that the exhibition of the university, where he has been working for many years, was organized on the day of its establishment, and expressed his gratitude to the university management and everyone who contributed to the exhibition.
After the speeches, Seyran Jafarli was presented a “Certificate of Appreciation” from the UNEC management.
On the occasion of the 94th anniversary of the university, teachers, employees and students who actively participated in the social and public life of UNEC, as well as researchers of UNEC Research Centres, were awarded with certificates of appreciation.
The UNEC Day continued with the artistic part performed by the dance and vocal groups of the Creative Centre. The UNEC collective celebrated its 94th birthday with great joy this year, as it does every year.
