Next hearing of a chain of reports about the Nobel Prize Laureates in Economic Sciences took place at Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) within the “Science Month” on November 3.
Director of the Science and Innovations Center of UNEC, Professor Sakit Yagubov spoke about the essence of Science Days; brought to attention the contributions to be made to university by the chain of events held within the Science Month.
The Professor of the Department Business Administration Reshad Muradov made a report about the Nobel Prize Laureate in Economic Sciences of 2015 Angus Steward Deaton. A.Deaton was awarded the Nobel Memorial Prize for his analysis of consumption, poverty and welfare. A.Deaton emphasized the significance of economic policy intended to reduce poverty could only be designed once individuals’ consumption choices were understood. His results obtained by linking detailed individual choices and aggregate outcomes, his research helped transform the fields of microeconomics, macroeconomics, and development economics.

It should be noted that a series of events has been started at UNEC within the “Science Month” in the months October-November. A range of events such as scientific workshops, round-table discussions are in progress within the “Science Month” at UNEC. The competition of UNEC’s academic staff’s, young research fellows’ and graduate students’ articles on “Socio-economic Development of Azerbaijan: Achievements and Perspectives” will take place in accordance with the program. The “Science Month” will be completed on November 10 “World Science Day for Peace and Development”. The rewarding of scientific articles’ competition held among the academic staff, young research fellows, graduate and undergraduate students will take place in the event.
