An “Orientation Day” was held at UNEC
“Orientation Day” has been held at Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) on September 14.
The purpose of the “Orientation Day” that is traditionally organized in the world universities is to make first- year undergraduate students familiar with the university life and cause them to live an entertaining and positive day.
The first-year undergraduate students were delivered the information about the history of UNEC within the “Orientation Day” held in all academic buildings of the University. It was spoken about the teaching process, Electronic University model, dual diploma programs and the Scholarship programs, information sheets were distributed. Info and guide service consisting of UNEC volunteers responded students’ questions and organized info tours around the university. The Electronic University Model, Financial laboratory and Innovative Business Incubator were of great interest by the students. Students were also informed that they can realize their “start-up” projects applying to the Innovative Business Incubator.
The employees of the Career Center provided the students with the information about the significance of the major they have chosen, future prospects, internship and scholarship programs and gave their recommendations for their growth as the skilled cadres.
The first- year undergraduates were said that the students with special skills can be members of the vocal, instrumental performance, painting dancing and recitation circles of the Creativity Center. They can realize their projects presenting them to Radio UNEC along with getting informed about the university and the news.
Students got acquainted with the sports- halls, canteen and out- patient clinic within the day. The art- gallery consisting of UNEC students’ handworks was demonstrated on the “Orientation Day”. Members of the Creativity Center showed the musical and dance performances. The first day at the university went on for the first- year students with ping- pong and “pulling the rope”.
Note that 4422 undergraduate and graduate students were enrolled to UNEC in 2016/2017 academic year. 291 of them gathered more than 600 points. One of the two students demonstrated the best result within the II group with 700 points Shahbaba Mammadov has chosen UNEC’s International School of Economics.
