Before the event, Ilyas Sokolov, a leading research officer at the Russian Institute of Economic Policy named after Y.T.Gaidar, met with the rector of UNEC, Professor Adalat Muradov. The sides discussed opportunities for cooperation between the two scientific institutions. The sides exchanged views on joint research, implementation of projects, and organization of conferences, agreed to sign a memorandum of cooperation.
Then a round table was held with the participation of the academic staff of UNEC, officials of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, heads of government agencies, business representatives and scientists.
Zakhid Mammadov, director of the UNEC department for Organization and Management of Scientific Activities noted that the training of personnel that meets the requirements of the labor market is one of the most important issues facing higher education institutions. He emphasized the importance of the scientific-educational-business unity in the relevant field, noting that scientific research centers in various fields of science and economy operate at UNEC.

Samira Musayeva, chief of the Tax Policy department of the Ministry of Economy, spoke about the tax reforms in the country. She provided detailed information on tax incentives in the development of micro and macro business, state support for SMEs, their clustering. The ministry official said that specific areas of tax policy have been identified to struggle against the shadow economy and emphasized that the ongoing reforms also serve as the reduction of administrative burden on entrepreneurs.
Chairman of the Chamber of Auditors prof. Vakhid Novruzov, President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) prof. Mammad Musayev, director of the Baku Textile Factory, chairman of the Association of Women Entrepreneurs Sakina Babayeva said that the seminar was of great importance and made interesting proposals.
At the event, General Director of Carlsberg Azerbaijan Vyacheslav Maltsev delivered speech with a presentation about the activities of the company he represents. He also highly appreciated the steps taken by the Government of Azerbaijan in economic cooperation and said that effective relations had been established between the public and private sectors.
The event continued with discussions. The importance of close involvement of scientific institutions in the development of new codes of state bodies, study of international experience in tax offenses, application of discounted taxes on startup projects and other suggestions were sounded.
