An employee of UNEC is on a business trip to the Kingdom of Sweden
Narmin Ibrahimova, the director of the International Cooperation Department of UNEC, has participated in trainings on entrepreneurship and innovation at the Royal University of Technology in Sweden.
The aim of the trainings dedicated to the topic “Enhancing the sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem in higher education institutions of Azerbaijan” (ENGAGE), coordinated by Mingachevir State University (MSU) and funded by the European Commission within the framework of the Erasmus+ project, was to develop university-industry cooperation, a study of the Swedish experience in the direction of effective organization of innovation and entrepreneurial activities in higher education institutions. The trainings were attended by the rector of MSU Shahin Bayramov, and representatives of partner universities, including the staff members of Bydgoszcz University of Economics in Poland.
MSU rector Shahin Bayramov spoke about the importance of the project and emphasized that it will play an important role in strengthening the entrepreneurship and innovation activities of Azerbaijan’s higher education institutions, especially regional universities, and in the creation and support of innovative ideas.
He said that studying the relevant experience in Sweden, which is in a leading position in the mutual development of entrepreneurship and innovation, will make significant contributions to the development of Azerbaijani higher education institutions in the mentioned direction.
During the training the department director of UNEC, Narmin Ibrahimova, teaching “Social entrepreneurship” at the International School of Economics, in addition to learning the experience of the Swedish university shared with the participants the innovations applied in this direction at UNEC.
During the 5-day trainings, the participants got acquainted with the current activities of the Swedish Innovation Agency, the Swedish Strategic Innovation Program, and the experience of the Polish WSG University on the application of entrepreneurship and innovation in higher education.
