UNEC Professors’ contribution to the Science of Numismatics
A textbook on “History of Azerbaijan” co-authored by a Professor of UNEC Department of “Humanitarian Disciplines” Abbas Seyidov has been published. The textbook published in Azerbaijani, Russian and English was recommended by UNEC’s Training- methodological Board and the Academic Board of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of ANAS.
The facility was written on the basis of 260 pcs. of numismatic materials from gold, silver and copper which reflect different periods of Azerbaijan history collected by a numismatist Rashid Rzayev for more than 50 years. The development of Azerbaijan numismatics is spoken about on the first part of the three- part manual. The classification of the coins reflecting the history of Azerbaijan statehood starting from the III and II centuries B.C. is spoken about in the II part. Numismatic materials possessing the neighboring countries which are in circulation and use in the territory of Azerbaijan are analyzed in the III part. Some of these coins are minted in different cities of Azerbaijan.
The author of the textbook’s preface is the Dr. of Economic Sciences, Professor Zahid Mammadov.
The facility that reflect centuries- old history of Azerbaijan’s statehood and rich with colored photographs is designed for students, historians, numismatists and a wide audience.
