UNEC students visited the family of martyr Mikhail Hamidov
The UNEC team continues to visit the families of its graduates who heroically died in the Patriotic War.
During the next visit, Chairman of UNEC Student Trade Union Committee Rufat Süleymanli and THIK activists met with the family of UNEC graduate Mikhail Hamidov who was heroically martyred in the Patriotic War.
In a meeting with relatives of Mikhail Hamidov, the intelligence officer nicknamed “Mikhaylo”, who won the victory momentarily, the martyr’s family talked about his life path and shared their memories. They talked about Mikhail’s childhood when he lived in Germany, as well as his youth after moving to Baku. they said that he loves his country as much as his family.
The students, who listened with interest about Mikhail, said that they will always cherish his dear memory, and that Mikhail’s honorable life path will be an example for every young person.
In the end, UNEC THİK Chairman Rufat Suleymanli presented the Honorary Decree in the name of Mikhail Hamidov to the family of our martyr.
Mikhail Hamidov was born on December 18, 1983 in Potsdam, East Germany, in a military family. In 1991-1998, he studied at secondary school number 278 in Surakhani district, and in 1998-2001 at school-high school number 72 in Sabunchu district. In 2001, Mikhail Hamidov was admitted to the Azerbaijan Higher Military School named after Heydar Aliyev, and in 2005 he finished his higher military education. Mikhail Hamidov, who served as a scout in the Special Forces for 4 years with the military rank of “lieutenant”, was discharged from the ranks of the Azerbaijan Armed Forces in 2009 with the military rank of “chief lieutenant”. He knew Russian, English and Armenian languages.
In 2013-2015, he received a master’s degree in “Business Management” from the MBA program at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC). After being discharged from the Azerbaijan Army, he worked in several high positions.
On September 27, 2020, Mikhail Hamidov, the reserve senior lieutenant of the Azerbaijan Army, voluntarily went to the Patriotic War. He fought in the battles for the freedom of Fuzuli. He played a special role in bringing several posts on the Armenian side in the direction of the Fuzuli region under the control of the Azerbaijani side in a short period of time. Mikhail Hamidov, nicknamed “Mikhaylo” by his comrades-in-arms during the Patriotic War, was martyred on October 23 during the Fuzuli battles. He was buried in II Fakhri Khiyaban.
After his death, by order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, he was awarded the “For the Motherland” and “For the Liberation of Fuzuli” medals.
He was married and had three children.
