At the international conference dedicated to the Year of Heydar Aliyev, topical issues related to the green economy are discussed
The 5th International Scientific Conference of Researchers of Economics and Management continues which has been dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of national leader Heydar Aliyev, jointly organized by Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC), Heydar Aliyev Center, UNEC International Master’s and Doctorate Center and Regional Development Public Union.
The first panel of the second day of the conference dedicated to “Green Day” was on “Clean and alternative energy: as the main column of sustainable development”. Leaders of relevant organizations of the country and foreign countries, as well as scientists and researchers, related to green economy and renewable energy, participated in the event.
The Rector of UNEC Prof. Adalat Muradov greeted the participants on the second day of the conference and pointed out that the event was dedicated to “Green Day”. Stating that books on the topic of the green economy have been printed within the framework of the conference, the rector said that the electronic version of the books will be presented to the libraries.
Speaking about the tasks set by the President of the country regarding the transition to a green economy after the liberation of Karabakh from occupation, A.Muradov stated that the green economy is based on science and technology, and stressed that scientific and educational institutions have a great responsibility in this direction.
He pointed out that the dedication of the conference to the green economy comes from the implementation of these tasks. The Rector said that scientific-practical discussions, important for green Azerbaijan, regarding the green economy, sustainable development, and alternative energy will be held and suggestions will be put forward at the panels.
Bakhtiyar Aslanbeyli, the moderator of the conference, and vice-president for communication and foreign relations in the Caspian region, drew attention to the relevance of the topic and said that the organization of scientific and practical discussions plays an important role in the development of the economy. Stating that the transition to green energy is one of the urgent issues, B. Aslanbeyli emphasized that the search for green energy continues from the point of view of technological and economic efficiency in the world economy. He said that Azerbaijan has rich potential in this field and insists on maintaining its leading position in the region.
Then, the head of the hydrogen and green technologies department of the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources, Rena Humbatova, informed about the steps taken by the ministry in the field of renewable energy and the road map defined in this direction.
Nazim Mammadov, the national project coordinator of the UN development program, spoke about the views of the UN in this direction and the projects to be implemented in Azerbaijan.
The managing director of Ventura Laboratory Paris de l’Etraz shared the startup’s European practices related to the green economy and renewable energy.
The head of “KRAFT ENERGY” Togrul Aziz talked about the difficulties faced by enterprises operating in the field of green energy in Azerbaijan and shared his thoughts on the solution.
After the discussions, Rector Adalat Muradov presented plaques of thanks to the speakers for their interesting and effective speeches.
