“We have opened a new page in UNEC history”
Rector of UNEC Professor Adalat Muradov received a delegation which had visited Ankara on December 10-12 with a performance “Nasimi”.
During the meeting it was noted that the performance prepared by the UNEC Creative Center caused a great deal of noise in the fraternal country. The actor expressed his gratitude to the actor- students and the whole creative team and said that this project was of great importance in terms of the contribution to “Nasimi Year” and introduction of our great thinker and UNEC in Turkey. Professor Adalat Muradov said that we had opened a new page in the history of UNEC with this performance, and this proud page would definitely be included in the book on the history of the university.
Vice-Rector for Student Affairs Saadat Gandilova, head of Creative Center, Elman Jafarov, director of the performance Vahid Orujoglu shared their impressions of the visit and successful show. It was reported that the performance was met with applauds, everyone was amazed by the students’ ability to perform. That is why UNEC Student Theater was invited back to Turkey in April 2020 with a performance on Karabakh.
Rector Adalat Muradov ordered to take necessary measures for further development and recognition of student theater of UNEC. He also recommended that the performance “Nasimi” which had been on the agenda of the day should be presented in the country, regions, universities and on the scenes of professional theaters.
The rector said that the University’s Creative Center should prepare new performances for important coming days. It was decided to stage plays dedicated to the 30th anniversary of January 20th tragedy and to the Khojaly genocide.
A report from rector prof. Adalat Muradov made the meeting participants happy. He said that UNEC would provide a site for a student theater in a new academic building, which is planned to be commissioned in May next year. The need for the theater to create its own material and technical base was also highlighted during the discussions.
Speaking afterwards, the student -actors expressed their deep gratitude to the rector Adalat Muradova for the conditions created for them. The students promised for new successes, making known UNEC Student theatre in our country and abroad better.
At the end, rector professor Adalat Muradov wished the participants success and new achievements. He said he was ready to provide any support for this.
