Professor Zahid Mammadov Ismayil

He was born on October 31, 1931 in Juvarli village of Fizuli region.
In 1948-1953 he studied at the department of Philosophy of the faculty of History of Azerbaijan State University.
From 1952 to 1957 he worked as an editor in the department of political and socio-economic literature at the Azerbaijan State Publishing House.
In 1957-1960 he was a graduate student of the department of Philosophy of the Academy of Sciences of the Azerbaijan SSR and in 1961 he defended his dissertation and received the degree of Candidate of Philosophical Sciences. Until 1963 he worked as a junior researcher in the Department of Philosophy of the Academy of Sciences of the Azerbaijan SSR. In 1975 he defended his doctoral dissertation and in 1978 received the degree of Doctor of Philosophy, and in 1979 the title of Professor.
In 1963-1964 he worked as a senior lecturer at the department of Philosophy and Scientific Communism of the Azerbaijan Polytechnic Institute, and in 1964-1966 as an associate professor. In 1966-1970 he worked as an associate professor at the “Philosophy and Scientific Communism” department of the Azerbaijan Institute of National Economy, in 1970-1981 he was the head of the “Scientific Communism” department, in 1988-1991 he was the head of the Scientific Communism department of the Baku branch of N. A. Voznosensky LMII, the head of the Department of Political Science of the Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan in 1991-1993, head of the department of Political Science and Sociology of the University of Economics in 2000-2009, head of the Department of Philosophy and Political Science in 2009-2010, 2010-2016. In the 1930s he worked as the head of the “Political Science” department. Until May 2017, he worked as the head of the “Humanities” department of the Azerbaijan State University of Economics.
He is currently a consultant-professor at the Department of Humanities.
He is the author of textbooks, teaching aids, methodical aids and programs, numerous scientific articles, 6 monographs on “Political Science and Sociology”.
In 1991 he was awarded an honorary diploma of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. By the order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 1430 dated April 24, 2006, he was awarded the “Honorary title of Honored Teacher” of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He was awarded the badge “Advanced Education Worker of the Republic of Azerbaijan” by the order of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated November 2, 2006.
He is married, has two children and grandchildren.
