Firstly, the delegation, which was represented by MP Etibar Aliyev, Deputy Chairman of the Public Council, Nadir Israfilov, Secretary of the Council, Ilgar Orujov, Chairman of the Society of Young Scientists, Postgraduates and Masters, has undergone a medical and preventive examination at UNEC Extern.
Then, Adalat Muradov, the rector of UNEC, introduced the members of the Public Council to the lecture-halls where distant classes are held. The guests were given detailed information about UNEC Extern. It was informed that the center will be able to provide distant education to 20 thousand students with a staff of 14 people. Daily the lessons are taught to 9200 students in Azerbaijani, Russian, English and Turkish in the distant classes beginning since March 12th. Board members watched the lessons live. Members of the Board expressed their satisfaction with the international standards of distance education, emphasizing the high level of student-teacher interactive learning environment.
Council members reviewed the administrative rooms. They got acquainted with the efficient organization of teachers’ leisure time, technical support, and other rooms.
In the end, members of the Public Council under the Ministry of Education cheered the university’s distance learning and regarded it as a progressive innovation in Azerbaijani higher education.
