Event held UNEC within the “Health Month”

An enlightening event on “Adapting to the requirements of the international standards of security assurance and a healthy lifestyle” was organized within the “Health Month” held to combat non-infectious diseases in the School of Commodity Research of Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) on November 2.

Vice-rector of UNEC for Students’ Affairs, Assistant Professor Saadat Gandilova said that the youths’ health is one of the important issues. She mentioned about the projects held in this direction at UNEC.

Member of Parliament Djale Aliyeva talked about the affairs done for safety of people’s lives, health and environmental security at the state level, stressed that these issues are always in the spotlight and at the same time legislative acts on these problems are always being improved and updated by Milli Majlis (Parliament).

The chief of the State Traffic Police Department of Baku City Main Police Office colonel Vagif Asadov told the that today new programs to ensure the citizens’ safety in public transport are developed and implemented at the state level, a lot of issues depend on the fact that the formation of new safety standards of the population, especially young people’s healthy lifestyle.

An employee of the State Traffic Police Department of Baku City Main Police Office, Lieutenant-Colonel Isa Deyistani spoke about the security of the citizens in term of the renewal of road infrastructure, road intersections by placing signs in accordance with standards, electronic information system of citizens’ registration and the expansion of these processes.

The Section Chief on Minors of Baku City Main Police Office Lieutenant-Colonel Maryam Omarova noted that the best way to reach the goals against drug addiction, alcoholism, fighting against the bad habits of young people is the organization of their leisure time effectively, informed about the role of public information in avoiding the discontent of young families, reducing divorce cases to the minimum level.

The Inspector General of Baku City Main Police Office on Minors, police Major Kamala Alakbarova noted that to avoid harmful habits of teenagers it is necessary to keep control during their school years and proper construction of teacher-parent-student relationship is an important factor.

Dean of the School of Commodity Research, Assistant Professor Tofig Osmanov, Head of the Department of Examination of Consumer Products, Professor Ali Hasanov and Head of the Department Standardization and Certification, Assistant Professor Zabit Aslanov noted the role of enlightening event which is the part of work carried out by UNEC Rector, Professor Adalat Muradov at the university to inform the students about the non- infectious diseases and inform the community about prevention methods, to have a healthy lifestyle, to make their leisure time more efficient in terms of the healthy future of our republic relating to the implementation of the Actions Plan of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan in accordance with the main activity directions on the “Strategy to Fight against Non- infectious Diseases within 2015- 2020” approved by the Decree 1645 signed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on December 23 2015.

The participants of the event answered teachers’ and students’ questions in the end.
