The Quality Council of UNEC held a meeting

The Council for “Self-assessment and Quality Improvement” of Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) has held its first session.

UNEC Rector, Professor Adalat Muradov announced the purposes of establishing a permanent commission on quality. He said improving the quality of teaching is one of the priorities of UNEC.

According to the agenda of the meeting, a proposal to strengthen the control over the replacement of the classes was discussed. Information about the quality ambassadors’ attendance at the teaching processes of the faculties they are assigned to was delivered during the event. It was noted that the monitoring to be conducted will serve to evaluating the current situation of the teaching process. It was also added that the board staff will implement the diagnostics of the materials provided by the teaching staff to students. To analyze the relevance of the training programs of sustainable work with government agencies and leading experts will be conducted. Rector emphasized that the knowledge provided to students should mostly be practical and adaptable.

Proposals on providing exemplary lectures and seminars by the Professors were also heard during the event.

In discussing the quality of ambassadors noted that more attention should be paid to young teachers. Ambassadors should follow the teaching staff’s classes and make suggestions.

The realization of mutual exchange classes of the teaching staff members of Azerbaijan State University of Economics, the University of Caucasus and the University of Khazar was especially stressed in a short period of time.

Selection of a young and promising teaching staff member the chairman of UNEC’s Student Scientific Society was also proposed in the session.

Discussions with the quality ambassadors will be held at the next session of the Board for “Self- assessment and Quality Improvement”.
