Seminars and round-table discussions were held within the “Islamic Solidarity Week” in the UNEC Faculty of Business and Management.
First lecture of the week was on “New Global Challenges: Azerbaijan and the Islam”. Touching upon the historical roots of Islam, Professor of the Department of “Humanitarian Subjects” Vakil Hasanov commented that Islam created favorable conditions for the development of science in Azerbaijan on the basis of historical facts.
The lecture on “Islamic Solidarity and Moral Values” was conducted by the Assistant Professor of the Department Humeyra Mustafayeva. H.Mustafayeva said is a religion of unity including the provision of all humans’ rights and freedoms. The eastern woman has her own style in all fields of modern world.
The next workshop held within the “Islamic Solidarity Week” was on “the Role of Islamic Economic Model in the Development of Society”. The seminar was attended by the Deputy Director of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations Baku office Jeyhun Aliyev, faculty administration, academic and student staffs of the university.
The School Dean, Associate Professor Miragha Ahmadov stressed that the declaration of 2017 “The Year of Islamic Solidarity” was an important step in meeting the challenges of the time. He said this year would be successful for our country and the entire Islamic world and remembered with the contributions made by the promotion and encouragement of Islamic culture, preservation of Islamic traditions and bringing them to public.
J.Aliyev stressed Islam possess moral values and a comprehensive nature. He noted that Islam prefers the potential that develops, meet changing circumstances. The main reason for relations between state and religion in the high level is wide spread of tolerance, multicultural values among the citizens. At present, as a fragment of the Islamic world, Azerbaijan is fighting against the religious hatred, discrimination, islamophobia, extremism and other negative phenomena.
Associate Professor of the Department of “Humanitarian Subjects” Latafat Hummatova analyzed the issue of bringing the Islamic ideas in the economy; talked about the values such as justice, impartiality, cooperation and ethics of the Islam. Topical issues of the theory of Islamic Economics were debated.
The teaching and student staffs’ questions were answered in the end of the seminar. Active participants of the seminar were presented Gurani Kerim.
