At the meeting, rector Adalat Muradov spoke about the innovations in the formation of UNEC as a student-centered university and the goals of UNEC-100 Development Strategy. Speaking about the need to increase the number of student social projects and the creation of new specialized student organizations, the rector drew attention of the students that decision of creation of “Student Senate” and “Student Auditor” existing at the leading universities would be made at UNEC.
The rector said that UNEC had introduced new standards in teaching foreign languages, and that innovations would be applied to improve students’ language skills and skills in using information technology. The meeting focused on the awarding of bachelors, masters and doctoral students to stimulate students’ academic activities, and underlined that UNEC’s undergraduate and graduate students can be awarded up to 4,000 manat for each article published in prestigious journals, depending on the degree of impact. He said that three UNEC students were awarded for their scientific article.
Adalat Muratov urged students to be active in the social life of the country, as well as the university, to demonstrate citizenship in the social processes carried out by the country’s leadership.
